PRIVACY POLICY
Private by default. Clear about the rest.
Effective August 9, 2026. This policy explains how Neon Cartridge Labs LLC ("Neon Cartridge Labs," "we," "us") handles information when you use Divendo, divendo.app, and a Divendo shared split.
Last updated August 9, 2026Summary
Divendo is designed to work without a Divendo account. Receipt scanning happens on your device by default. When you choose to share a split, we temporarily process the structured receipt details needed for the group to review and claim items. We do not sell personal information, rent it to advertisers, or use it for targeted advertising.
Information you provide
A shared split can include the merchant name; item names, quantities, and amounts; tax, tip, fees, discounts, and total; a payment handle entered by the host; the display names chosen by participants; and item claims. A display name can be personal information if it identifies you.
Receipt photos and on-device history
For normal scans, the receipt image is processed on your device and is not sent to Divendo’s shared-split service. Divendo does not add receipt photos to your system Photos library. If you choose to keep a photo in Recent, that photo and the saved receipt history remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app, subject to your device’s own backup settings.
Temporary shared splits
When a host creates a shared split, we store the structured split details, participant names, claims, limited session credentials, and the host’s payment handle so the room works. The original receipt photo is not stored with the room. Shared splits expire after 48 hours; once expired, they are no longer available through the link and are scheduled for deletion from the active service.
Technical and security information
When you use divendo.app or a shared split, our service providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request time, security events, and a random device identifier used to protect the service from abuse. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and rate-limit Divendo.
How we use information
We use the information above to provide the split, calculate and display each share, let participants claim items, open a payment handoff if you request it, maintain the service’s security, respond to support requests, and comply with applicable law. Divendo does not move money or receive your full payment-card information; a payment handoff occurs in the separate payment app you choose.
Who can see a shared split
Anyone with an active shared-split link may be able to see that room’s structured receipt details, participant display names, claims, and payment handle. Please share the link only with people you intend to invite. We do not make shared rooms searchable or public, but a private link is not the same as a password-protected account.
Service providers
We use Cloudflare to operate and protect divendo.app and related server requests, Supabase to store active shared-split data, and Microsoft Azure Document Intelligence only when you choose Smart Scan. Apple provides the App Store and may process information under its own privacy policy when you download Divendo or use Apple services. These providers process information on our behalf or under their own terms only as needed to provide their services.
Smart Scan and your consent
Smart Scan is an optional cloud-assisted second opinion currently available only in selected Divendo preview builds. It is off by default. It can be used only after you turn on “Allow Smart Scan processing” and then choose “Use Smart Scan for this receipt.” When you do, Divendo sends a compressed receipt image to Microsoft Azure Document Intelligence to return a structured scan result. Divendo does not save that image in the shared split or use it as a training dataset. We request deletion of the Azure analysis result after processing completes. You can turn off Smart Scan processing at any time in Privacy & data; local scanning remains available.
Help improve Divendo
This optional setting is separate from Smart Scan and Divendo Plus. If you turn it on, after you review a scanned receipt Divendo may receive the originally selected and corrected merchant name, currency, item names, quantities, and line-item amounts. We use this photo-free feedback to improve future local receipt-reading rules. It does not include the receipt image, raw OCR text, tax, tip, fees, payment details, participant names, or your shared-split link. You can turn this setting off at any time in Privacy & data.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can use local scanning, turn off Smart Scan processing and Help improve Divendo, choose not to create or join a shared split, avoid saving photos in Recent, delete saved on-device history, and let shared rooms expire. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal data we hold, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us from an address where we can safely reply and include enough detail to identify the shared split or device history at issue.
International use
Divendo may be used internationally, including in the United States and Mexico. Information may be processed in the countries where we and our service providers operate. We will handle privacy requests in accordance with applicable law; if you are in Mexico, you may use the contact below to request access, rectification, cancellation, or opposition in relation to personal data we control.
Children
Divendo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Divendo, contact us so we can review and address the issue.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when Divendo or the law changes. We will post the revised policy here and change the effective date. For privacy questions or requests, contact Neon Cartridge Labs LLC at divendo@neoncartridgelabs.com.
